I’d wanted to try this place for a while now but I could never quite pick where it was. Tucked away in a little corner off Flinders Street, is this tiny coffee shop and record store called Suzie Q. I was immediately drawn in with the smooth tunes chosen by the staff on a quiet Wednesday afternoon, and of course the photos crowding my Instagram of the cafe’s delicious food meant I had to go in for a bite! (Lucky warning: this is a quick review)
I of course started with a coffee – my usual soy piccolo definitely did the trick! The coffee was delicious: being attacked before my friend could even arrive at the cafe!
Straight onto the food; we ordered the White Bean Ragu with Roasted Fennel, Goats Cheese, Pesto and Corn Arepas instead of sourdough to make it gluten free ($17 – I think?). This was absolutely delicious, with the ragu being the perfect meal on a cold winters morning. The addition of the goats cheese and pesto added a delicious freshness and lightness to the meal, contrasting against the heartiness of the beans.
Next up was the breakfast at Epiphane’s ($18) which consisted of a Poached Egg, Avocado, Pickled Beetroot, Chickpea Puree, House Made Labneh, Toast and Smoked Ham. This received rave reviews, and I tried the pickled beetroot and labneh which were just amazing!
And that brings us to a short and sweet review of Suzie Q; a cute little cafe definitely worth seeking out! X

I miss living in Aus and of course, you guys do food right. I’m always spoiled for choice. I found you in the coffee tag, by the way. It’s my favourite place to read. I find so many interesting posts there. Have a great Sunday afternoon.
